Happy Holidays to everyone! This marks the end of my little AI experiment, and I’ve learned a lot, mostly that artificial intelligence truly can’t compete with human creativity, whether that’s writing recipes, making playlists or coming up with whimsical holiday menus. But, when used correctly, it can be helpful, time saving, and also a lot of fun. I won’t use it again for any of my newsletters, but I do wish I could invite Andy to all of my dinner parties, even it it’s just to bless the feast. Watch these shenanigans:
AI Generated Menu:
The menu was created entirely by AI, and it was a play on traditional holiday dishes from around the world - Mexican Tamales, Italy’s Feast of the Seven Fishes, and the French Yule Log, aka Buche de Noel. (I did not tell the AI to do it that way, that’s just what it did!) It also made the spiffy menu cover on the left.
I asked AI to write the recipes for all of these items, but most of them needed serious tweaking. Read on for my tweaked versions, with notes from me and the AI, plus a bonus recipe made entirely from my brain for a bracing Citrus Arugula Salad that cuts the richness of of that buttery, garlicky pasta. I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday and and happy New Year, I’ll be back mid-January with more 100% Prime, Grade-A Content.
